SHIPPER'S HELL
ive been a hardcore shipper since i was, like, 12. something about smushing two characters together like barbie dolls is ADDICTING to me.
some of these ships somewhat border on canon. some of them are creations from my mind palace that make no sense to anyone but me.
P.S: pokemon ship names are weird and nonstandard. some of these have ship names i hate, so me and my friends just invented our own.
REGURI / NAMELESSHIPPING
in my opinion, reguri is the actual holy grail of pokemon ships. the two original trainers, rivals for their entire lives...
the joke is that in SuMo they're on their honeymoon. and it might as well be canon as far as im concerned. the way they look at each other in pokemon masters. the way blue never shuts the hell up about him. my god, theyre gay.
this was one of my first hyperfixations as a wee lad. SuMo came out, and despite little 12 year old me having never played a gen 1 game, i fell in love with it. the appeal is universal. ive seen borderline homophobic dudebros admit that red and blue are gay.
BLUESILVER / COBALTSHIPPING
ANOTHER blue ship? wow, hes greedy. apparently some people think this one is "problematic?" i always imagined blue and silver around the same age, personally, so i dont really see anything wrong with it... this one is pretty niche in the gameverse... ive only seen it shipped one or two times outside of my own shenanigans.
i just think these two would be perfect for each other. asshole rivals who calmed down over time. they can bond over their shared experiences and shitty/absent parental figures.
TWINLEAFSHIPPING
ive always been a fan of dawn/barry (and dawn is my favorite protag!), but i think PL:A sealed it for me. im a big defender of the "legends arceus protag is dawn/lucas" theory, so the idea of barry getting his closest friend ripped from him by god itself is CRAZY. i love it. the angst potential is off the charts.
because im a wimp and cant torment characters too much before i start feeling bad, i always imagined dawn comes back from hisui eventually. she and barry reunite... maybe they get married when theyre older... ahhh. peak.
