welcome to the world of pokemon!

My History with Pokemon

pokemon... ive been into pokemon for basically as long as i can remember. i think i got into it at around 4 years old, watching it at my cousin's house. from that moment on, my brain chemistry was altered.

however, i wasnt actually trusted with any game consoles at that age. justifiably, i must note-- because i would lose everything i touched as a kid. my first game was white, and i strangely dont have that much of a nostalgic attachment to unova. probably because i was 7 and too young to actually understand what makes gen 5 good. i mashed A through all the dialogue and cried when my snivy evolved because it wasnt cute anymore.

my first game that i actually remember much about was Y. though that save is long gone, i will always remember Ember the Fennekin, my first pokmeon i got truly attached to and remember. i brute forced my way through the game using the most abysmal dogshit team imaginable, defeating diantha using a butterfree.

My Favorite Things in Pokemon

my favorite thing about pokemon is, strangely, not the pokemon themselves. its actually the trainers. i dont know what about them appeals to me so much, but they certainly do. almost all my art is pokemon trainers.

my favorite trainer, above all else, is Will from Johto. yeah, not one of the well written characters like Lillie or N, fucking Will. i dont know man, i just really like him. i think hes awesome.

trainers aside, my favorite pokemon is (as may be obvious) Deoxys. Spinda is a close second, but something about Deoxys is just so COOL.

my favorite region is probably a tie between Johto and Alola. Alola is so cozy to me and feels like home, since it's the gen that got me back into pokemon after a few years of thinking i finally outgrew it. Johto, meanwhile, is just cozy for entirely different reasons, unrelated to nostalgia. its just fun.
